Story behind theMadness Mushrooms pattern

This hand-drawn pattern was inspired by detailed, vintage botanical illustrations. The idea for it came to me shortly before the halloween season. The smell of pumpkin spice floating in the air might have influenced the subject of this design. The creepy-eyed mushrooms, skull champignon, and toxic fungus become main motifs. Paired with handwritten script, they made this pattern look like it belongs in an old botanical atlas, or rather in a potion book of some medieval witch.
